Next-generation electric grills

ELECTRIC GRILLS – AN ALTERNATIVE TO A GAS GRILL

Electric grills have developed tremendously. They are no longer just small tabletop grills suitable for balconies; many models now feature a gas-grill–style appearance, striking design, a large grilling surface, and powerful performance that allows you to grill all kinds of foods – from steaks to vegetables.

Heat output and performance

Modern electric grills can reach cooking surface temperatures of up to 300 °C, which is more than sufficient for searing steaks and achieving a crispy surface. By comparison, the cooking surface temperature of gas grills is typically around 330–360 °C, while the lid thermometer usually reads 200–250 °C.

Design and construction

The new Mustang electric grills are designed to resemble gas grills. The grill is mounted on a wheeled cart. Grilling grates are made of matte-enameled cast iron. Grills have fold-down side shelves. The desired grilling temperature is set using control knobs and the grill includes a digital temperature display or a thermometer integrated into the lid.

Who is an electric grill suitable for?

Electric grills are suitable for urban residents who are not permitted to use gas or open flames when grilling and users who value ease of use, quick cleaning and want the look of a gas grill but the convenience of an electric grill.
