Extend the life of your grill with regular maintenance
To ensure that your grill lasts as long as possible, it must be cleaned and maintained regularly. It is particularly important to give your grill a thorough overhaul when using it after a long period of storage.
First
Turn on the grill and heat it up to more than 250 °C. Fat combustion burns any fat, marinades and leftover food residues in the grates into carbon. Allow the grill to cool to hand temperature.
Grates and griddels
Spray the grill grates and griddles with Mustang grill grid cleaning fluid. Let it sit and clean the grates and griddles with a grill cleaning brush. Scrape off stubborn dirt and grease with a grill scraper. Then, wipe the grill grates and griddles clean of any loose dirt with a wet tissue. If necessary, you can wash the grill grates and griddles in the sink, as well. Dry thoroughly after washing. Please note! If you have cast iron grates and griddles, only use hot water and a cleaning brush to wash them. Cast iron parts must not be washed with detergent. However, the Mustang grill grid cleaning fluid is also suitable for the cleaning of cast iron parts.
Heat distribution plates
Spray the heat distribution plates with Mustang grid cleaning fluid or grill cleaning fluid and allow it to work. Clean the heat distribution plates with a cleaning brush and finish the cleaning with a Mustang wet tissue. You can also wash the heat distribution plates in the sink. Dry the heat distribution plates after cleaning.
Inner surfaces
Spray Mustang grid cleaning fluid or grill cleaning fluid onto the inner surfaces of the grill and allow it to work. Use the Mustang cleaning sponge to wipe the inner surfaces of the grill clean. Finish the cleaning with a Mustang wet tissue.
Grease tray
Clean the grease tray by spraying Mustang grid cleaning fluid or grill cleaning fluid onto it and allow it to work. Use the Mustang cleaning sponge to wipe the grease tray clean. Finish the cleaning with a Mustang wet tissue. You can also wash the grease tray in the sink.
Outside surface
Clean the outside surface of the grill by spraying Mustang grid cleaning fluid or grill cleaning fluid onto it and allow it to work. Use the Mustang cleaning sponge to wipe the grease tray clean. Please note! Use the smooth surface of the cleaning sponge to clean the outside surfaces of the grill. You can also use Mustang wet tissues to clean the outside surfaces. Finish the cleaning with a Mustang microfiber cloth. If necessary, rinse the cleaned surfaces with water.
Final touches
After cleaning the grill, place the heat distribution plates, grates and griddles back in the grill. Turn on the grill and heat it up to remove moisture from all of the grill parts. Let the grill cool down.
Once cooled, protect the grill with a grill cover. However, do not tighten the cover too tightly, as air must be allowed to circulate under the cover. We recommend storing the heat distribution plates, grids and griddles in a dry, warm place, although otherwise the grill can be stored outside when covered.
If you clean your grill after each use and carry out a more thorough cleaning at regular intervals, the grill and its parts will stay in better condition for longer. And it is always much nicer to start grilling with a clean, well-maintained grill.
Universal spare parts
Keep your grill in top condition with spring maintenance by replacing worn parts with new ones. Mustang universal spare parts such as burners, grates and igniters fit a wide range of grills, ensuring long life and a great grilling experience.
